Hello! I am Amy and am glad you are here.
I founded ACE Life! Psychotherapy because I truly believe that with support from time to time we can all ACE Life!
Helping you and your family find or rediscover harmony, compassion, strength and excitement about life is my passion.
Really effective therapy is about our relationship. I am an honest, authentic, nonjudgemental person. I hope to create respectful and safe space together within our relationship so you can explore your challenges and discover your truth.
GLBTQ families and individuals are warmly supported.
As an attachment and systems oriented therapist I believe human interactions are powerful and we impact each other in ways we may not even be aware of. Everyone and every family has their own story of this and patterns of relating to each other born of our experiences and shared human need for attachment. It is my goal to bring to light these patterns and attachment needs so we can figure out what's working and what's not.
I will meet you where you are and together we will decide what therapeutic approach works best for you. I often use mindfulness based practices, an insight oriented approach, emotionally focussed therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and cognitive behavioral therapy.
I have 20+ years experience in the field and have practiced in non-profit, private, educational, community, and residential settings. My focus has always been helping young people and families to reach their goals in life, love and relationships.
I received a Masters in Social Work, with a clinical focus, from Arizona State University in 2002 and Bachelors of Arts, from Alma College in Michigan in 1996. I have been licensed in the great State of Colorado since 2005 (license # CSW456).
Hoping to meet you soon!
